In my professional life at The University of Michigan, I spend most of my time helping people connect with each other through technology. Sometimes that involves developing for and managing web-based projects, where I’m always a strong advocate for the user. In my work with students, I help them connect to professionals and peers in their area of interest, always keeping in mind that technological tools work best when they facilitate connections among people, not just connections to the technology itself.
Above all else I’m a learner. I try to see every task and project as an opportunity to learn something new. I’m particularly interested in the intersection between learning, psychology, and design, and the way insights from those topics can be used to create products that people love.
Outside of work, I’m a huge sports fan. I’m a lifelong fan of all teams Michigan and Detroit, and I cried when my beloved Fab Five lost in the 1992 National Championship to the Duke Blue Devils. I also find the time to be a pretty big nerd (gaming and movies, in particular), and will always believe that Han shot first.
